This menu design was created for Hawksworth Restaurant under the direction of Chef de Cuisine Quinton Bennett to help guide the guests through the culinary dining experience of contemporary Canadian cuisine.
The vellum paper reveals the layers of the menu items and design. The grey linen and soft white vellum complement the delicate and refined table settings.
The small drawn icons are frequently updated and changed to reflect the seasonality of the ingredients in the dishes being served. They also move around the map to approximate regions where those ingredients may be encountered.
The tangible interaction with this menu, is the starting point for the guests’ culinary journey, but also a memento to be taken home at the end of the evening in order to recount that journey in the future.
